Akron’s neighborhood of Middlebury has a rich history and its neighbors and organizations are working together to build a stronger community.
From Summa to Summacare: A Walk Down East Market
The walk highlights the potential for economic development and transformation in Middlebury, leveraging the proximity to regional anchors like Summa and Goodyear. In partnership with the Akron Art Museum and its Inside|Out community activated art project, The Neighborhood Network of University Park, and the East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation, reproductions of iconic artworks from the museum’s collection have been installed along the walking path and in key locations to help augment the conversation for what your community can become. Join us for A Walk Down East Market, learn about the Inside|Out artworks along the way, and converse with neighbors about what you envision about your community to help shape its future.
Can’t make the walking tour but still want to be involved? You can view the 10 artworks and their Middlebury locations online via the Inside|Out Online Tour App and visit them in person at your leisure. Artworks will be up through October 31, 2017. https://insideoutakron.toursphere.com
