February 24, 2017: Greystone and Quaker Square Walking Tour

In honor of its 100th year, join us as we explore six floors of hidden splendor of what once housed meetings and celebrations of Akron's Freemasons. Whether it's the Egyptian tour, the theater, or the intricate workmanship of the tiniest details, Greystone is sure to impress.

A block away stands the old factory of Quaker Oats. Quaker Square, built in 1886, once housed the production facilities for the cereal maker, but was repurposed after Quaker moved in 1970. The building is a shadow of its former self, which once included restaurants and bars and thriving shops—a peek into some of the forgotten establishments will be included on this tour.

The Quaker Square portion will be a teaser with the bulk of the tour winding through Greystone Hall.
